This is the space dedicated to self-organization of pods. Pods are the rasins that are camping as groups. We are requesting a representative that collects fees, and focalizes their group. Your registration with the pod will secure a space, the ealier the better. We are requesting $50 per person in each pod.

Questiion.
will podities have access to the generator? i will have an electric bike and most likely wheelchair that will need charging.

Jame , Adam here , friend of Heather N. and co-organizer of early crew/camp infrastructure. So glad you and your pod are being so proactive/organized ! hopefully other pods will be inspired by your example and
post their intention / needs / hopes and numbers .
In response to your inquiry about generator acess , The generator belongs to Ian,our naked DJ, and has been utilized on playa for powering the sound equiptment and blenders(smoothies) . I wouldn't presume to offer it myself but I have observed his generous nature and could forsee him allowing you to use it(especially when he is spinning because its already going and an additional output doesn't affect the sound)
Bringing a GAS CAN full of unleaded car gas would be a proactive move because most anyone on the Playa with a generator will let you use their equiptment if you replace the gas , especially to charge a wheelchair ! Also if your battery is removeable , there are two bike trailers in Raisin camp and a battery recharge mission would be a fun Karma Yoga/Participation adventure . A sugestion I could offer would be to
go to Ian's profile on Blazin Raisin, write an email about your needs/request (tribe auto-forwards to personal email accounts . -
-
thanks for your help Adam.
will do on all counts.
not certain what you mean by>battery recharge mission would be a fun Karma Yoga/Participation adventure .<
can you elaborate please? -
-
a person on a bike with the trailer could take your battery(s) to a powered location and charge them up. For fun,for loving service to another human being ,for the adventure of doing something usefull that encourages participation in Playa culture . That sort of thing is quite common and usually greeted with enthusiastic and slightly sureal cooperation .

got it. i know it will work out. e-mailed Ian.
thanks again Adam. -

I posted this on early arrivals , but wanted to put it here.
dave has a grand scheme of constructing a tower and shade structure in the shape of a "V" with the point facing into the prevailing wind. He would love it if the open inside of the "V" could face in towards the center of the village. Are both these things possible? He is hoping that there will be ample space for the structure, cars and tents. I will send specific dimensions of structure and a best guess at extra space needed and hope for the best. If space is tight the structure can be re-designed. (the structure now measures 32' on each side in the shape of a 'V' or "L')

Some concerns have been expressed about Exclusion/ Inclusion/Selectiveness/Clickishness in Pod formation . If I might add my personal opinions on this matter :
Raisin Camp started on the tailgate of Elana's truck 6 years ago (at Omar's ) with 4 people and no shade . For the next few years , Raisin numbers increased , rarely exceeding 20 people . In 2004 , for some reason, that number more than doubled . The same thing happened again last year and some people noticed a strained feeling in regard to infrastructure(kitchen use/cleanliness/trash/elbow room)and public permability(unknown random people crowding the scene/eating without asking/ect.) . We are now numbering 150+ PEOPLE , all are beloved friends who CHOOSE to camp together for the great homespace vibe we have sucessfully created year after year . Pods are a way that we can all camp together as close neighbors without the hassles of everyone being in each others space/face/grocceries/kitchen/groove . Hopefully with a combination of better site planning(pod grouping/clear boundries between public and private spaces) and
a committed group of people willing to do neccissary camp maintance tasks will allow Raisin Camp to continue to function smoothly and offer great vibes . Radical self-reliance + cooperation+ participation = community fun. This is pleasurable practice in community building , necissary in these crazy times .
All of the above merely frames my personal request request to all Raisins : Please set aside any ideas of
Inclusion/Exclusion/Selectivity/Clickishness and instead embrace the neccisary reorganization of Raisin Camp by grouping up in Pods of 2 to 20 people .
Please post to this site your intention/pod numbers and-or
contact Indria/Elana/AJ/Susie K. to coordinate your pod's inclusion . Also those who are coming solo or in small numbers , please consider joining with others to form conglomerate pods . Space will quickly become
very limited , sooner your group communicates , sooner space can be allocated . Random drop-in campers on the Playa WILL be turned away , so DO NOT tell everybody " hey, come camp with us" This is neccisary to make room for the number of Raisin campers already anticipated . I really do wish it could be all relaxed like it used to be but that is how we got this big and we need to see how the pods idea will work and get group concensus before expanding furthur . Theoretically, pod grouping organization would allow for near infinate expansion .

Unsu...
we don't know who is in what pod, but about a month ago, a bunch of people took their best guesses... this is NOT intended to be a complete, or even correct, list... but it IS intended to get you all thinking about pods.
maybe if you do know your pod info you can post it here on tribe to catalyze organization etc....

Mmmmm, thanks again for allll the organizational LOVE you and others are putting into our gracious gorgeous lovin camp.
PM pod got big all a sudden! love everywhere.
Just wanted to be sure you had me plus two on the PM pod list. Momma love and Tristan Bliss will be with me. (mom's arriving Wed/Thurs.) Money for three already in & all 3 will be livin sweet in my momma's little terri trailer.
We're not sure what we're pulling the terri with yet, but might have to rent big van or U-haul. If so we can probably help with bringing in community items from SC as need be. My mom could drive to you, Thurs. Aug. 24, then she'll drive to me in Santa Rosa. Bliss and I head to Gerlach Fri. the 25th. Let me know mamita.
