Plans are moving full speed ahead to get village status for Raisin Camp this year.
Many thanks to all who have contibuted time to this administrative effort.
There are benefits to being an official ¨village,¨ including the privilege of early entrance to the playa to create and construct our home, and reserved space on the playa.
Village status does not require that we put Blazin Raisin on the official BMan map.
So far, according to the wishes of Adam, Brad, and AJ, the plan is for us to be on the map this year.
My thought is that if we are on the map, we´ll have more people coming by to check us out... which can be great or not, depending on how prepared we are, logisitically, energetically, etc.
My first thought was to avoid the publicity of being on the MAP... but then I´m sure there are many things that can come from this new era of Village Status...
We are offering to the public this year, so far:
the crow´s nest on top of the 34 foot mast, from which people can get a bird´s eye view over the playa
the shade structures and chill spaces beneath the parachute and the bedouin tent, but probably not the kitchen
at least one public event. For sure a dance party, and maybe more.

what else????
there´s still time to get stuff into the WhoWhatWhere,
more later. it´s too hot here in Nicaragua to think straight.

  • Great!
I have been wanting to add to the discription...what is the date we have to submit?

There has been a great deal of discussion about modeling sustainability and having that be a focus for camp this year. We wouldnt have to do much more than we already are doing, but get another diesel generator (i can bring biodeisel) and some more pvc's for power...i would be happy to write up a blurb for that and Amira has been coordinating with the BRC Ranger who is responsible for greening bm.
    • Unsu...

      yes Indriyaji!
we would love your input on the camp description! (and everyone else´s as well!)
the deadline for the village camp quesitinnaire is July 1st, and it is almost complete... the last detail is a more eloquent camp description that will go on the website (and perhaps elsewhere as well...)

here is what we have now, utterly open to revision:
A cozy homespun heart-centered camp featuring a bedouin living space, palapa kitchen, naked DJ and lots of love. We're kind of about love. We don´t have much more of a theme than that.

of course, you can contact me and I´ll give you the log in details so you can access it yourself.

ALSO, whowhatwherewhen submissions are due on july 15th, so if we want to publicize any events or offerings, including any parties or presentations on sustainability or nvc or other subjects... gotta get that in soon!
      • THanks susie,
Scotty- would you like to offer a nVC workshop? I can help co-falicitate

I am going to volunteer Guillaume for tango lessons- he would love to do it

I would definately like to add more to the description, more to come

        thanks susie

        • We are a down-home spun heart centered community didicated to sharing, communication, cuddleing, and co-creation of magic with an emphasis on inclusivity and creation of the highest love-vibe potential. We are committed to the continual growth of the most eco-friendly camp possible within our means, practicing sustainability and eductaion amongst ourselves and the greater BM community...We offer a hell of a party with our own naked DJ, because; "if i cant dance i dont want to be in your revolution."

These are my two bits, with Elana's, feel free to add or subtract..
